Gujarat-based CA Patel Textiles has ventured into casual and semi-casual shirt manufacturing for its own brand ‘ITALFIC’ with 200 stitching machines. The company further plans to install 800 stitching machines in the next two years.
Being tagged as the ‘textile state’ and the ‘denim capital’ of India, Gujarat at present has a textile market of around US $ 25 billion. It contributes nearly 12 per cent towards India’s overall textile exports. Even the former capital of the state, Ahmedabad, is among the biggest textile hubs of the country. Interestingly, Ahmedabad is now growing as an apparel manufacturing hub as well. There are some companies in the city that are now foraying into garment business and one of them is the six decades old CA Patel Textiles.
