Meet, engineer Namita Sharma, Founder of Dehradun (India)-based Godwit Khadi, a startup with passion for khadi, and that too without any textile background. Started recently, Godwit Khadi is a small organization which is 100 per cent into khadi. Namita recently participated at its first ever international sourcing fair and talked to Apparel Resources, “I’ve always had interest in fashion and strong fashion sense too. Khadi business was my father’s dream so I was enthralled about this step.”
She further added, “People across the world are still not aware about Indian tradition and culture; khadi and its benefits. Similarly in India it has faded away, although there is enough scope in this segment. Being handmade, khadi has such a nice feel, and fur doesn’t tear as well. It remains cool in summer and warm in winter. Khadi business is also a great employment generator in many rural areas,
